The Choir has established a reputation for performing a wide range of repertoire encompassing a broad range of styles, catering for all tastes of both audience and singers alike.
Previous 'classical' concerts have included performances of Handel's Messiah, Fauré's Requiem, Vivaldi's Gloria, Duruflé's Requiem, Bach's Magnificat, Haydn's Nelson Mass, and John Rutter's Gloria and this Spring we performed "Merrie England", an operetta, at All Saints Church. This style of repertoire is usually performed in the spring and autumn terms, using orchestra and soloists, in venues such as large school halls, churches and Peterborough Cathedral. We are members of the National Association of Choirs (NAC) and participate in the East Anglia Groups combined choirs concerts which are held every few years. In April 2008 we will be singing Mozart's Requiem.
Our summer term concerts are very different, with music ranging from popular folk music such as Londonderry Air, to songs from shows like Les Misérables and Guys and Dolls, Beatles numbers, firm favourites such as Moon River and The Rhythm of Life and much, much more. These concerts are presented in relaxed style, with cabaret style seating for the audience and incorporate a buffet in the interval.
